The Ian Gillan version of Gethsemane from the original 1970 concept album of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera: Jesus Christ Superstar. Due to controversy over the musical's content, Rice and Webber were forced to make a concept album before they could even dream of turning this into a stage musical. Original cast members included Ian Gillan (Jesus), Murray Head (Judas), as well as Yvonne Elliman (Mary Magdalene) and Barry Dennen (Pilate) who would go on to reprise their roles in the 1973 film version starring Ted Neeley (Jesus) and Carl Anderson (Judas). "Jesus Christ Superstar" follows the last days of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
