A while back, Bob Herbert's column in the NYT told a shocking statistic of gun deaths in America (his column "Hooked On Violence" 4.27.07). So I wrote this, and It was Elizabeth Edwards who encouraged me to put it on a CD, get it out into the world, so I did. But after seeing Tom Paxton's video of "What If, No Matter" I figure it's not enough to just put some songs on a CD, so I'm following his lead, recorded this tonight, and I hope other songwriters will do the same.
