Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (May 3, 1903 -- October 14, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Crosby's trademark bass-baritone voice made him one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century, with over half a billion records in circulation. Did your mother come from Ireland for there's something in you Irish can you tell me where you got those irish eyes and before she left Killarney did your mother kiss the Blarney for that little touch of brogue can't be denied sure I know we'll be romancin' I can almost feel you dancing when the Kerry pipers play and I know that we'll be sharin' in the shamrock you'll be wearin' on the next St. Patrick's Day Did your mother come from Ireland for there's something in you Irish and that bit of Irish steals my heart away

Once again, obviously I am not comparing myself to Bing Crosby, the greatest singer of our time (in my humble opinion). Just doing it for fun. Feel free to give me feedback! I do not own the rights to this song.

Description :
Here is an original recording made in the early 40's of ''Danny Boy'' sung by Bing Crosby. The sound is straight from an old phonograph into my camera. It obviously sounds much better when you stand next to the speakers!! Enjoy! This Bing Crosby record also has ''I'll be home for Christmas'' on the other side! cgi.ebay.com (Dec 26, 201002:09:20 PST) Auction Ends! Good luck!! From Wiki: ''Merry Christmas'' is an album of phonograph records by Bing Crosby, released in 1945 on Decca Records, catalogue A-403. It has remained in print through the vinyl and compact disc eras, currently as the disc White Christmas on MCA Records, a part of the Universal Music Group, reissued in June of 1995. It includes Crosby's signature song "White Christmas", the best-selling single ever, with sales of over 50 million copies worldwide. The album itself has sold over 15 million copies, and is the second best-selling Christmas album of all-time behind Elvis Presley's 1957 holiday album Elvis' Christmas Album, which has sold more than 19 million copies worldwide. The original album consisted of ten songs on five 78 records, all of which had been previously released. Each one had a holiday theme with the exception of "Danny Boy," paired with "I'll Be Home for Christmas" on its original record. Prior to the long-playing album era, such assemblies were not common for popular music, Merry Christmas instigated by the enormous popularity of the "White Christmas" record. Decca issued a second edition ...

My name is ~Anastasia Lee~, I am a 15 yr old. I sing Classical Crossover, Opera, Musical Theater & The Classics (1930's-1970's). Here is My rendition of this Classic piece of musical history. Feel free to leave Comments. ~ Historical Background of "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" ~ "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" is a lighthearted song in tribute to Ireland. Its lyrics were written by Chauncey Olcott and George Graff, Jr., set to music composed by Ernest Ball, for Olcott's production of The Isle O' Dreams, and Olcott sang the song in the show. It was first published in 1912, at a time when songs in tribute to a romanticized Ireland were very numerous and popular both in Britain and the United States. During the First World War the famous tenor John McCormack recorded the song. The song continued to be a familiar standard for generations. Decades later it was used as the opening song on the radio show Duffy's Tavern. The song has been recorded on over 200 singles and albums and by many famous singers, including Bing Crosby, Connie Francis, and Roger Whittaker.
