Description :
Los Angeles voice actor and impressionist Jeff McNeal's first tribute to the James Bond franchise and my second tribute to Tom Jones (in the same afternoon, no less). I've been wanting to do this song ever since I started doing these tributes about a year ago (Summer '09), but I simply lacked the skill to pull it off. This still isn't as good as I'd like it to be, but I have to face the fact that this is probably as good as I'm going to be able to get it, given my inexperience and lack of training (or even natural ability) as a singer. Still, some parts turned out okay. Hope you'll agree. Thanks for listening and off course comments always welcome. More tributes to dozens of other artists on my channel. Some filmmusic becomes "classic easy listening" and that certainly is the case with the music - especially the "James Bond" themes - written by John Barry. "Goldfinger", "Thunderball", "Diamonds are Forever" and of course this "You Only Live Twice" : you must have been living on another planet if these songs do not sound familiar...... Ian Fleming wrote the Bond novel in 1964 and only 3 years later, in 1967, the movie was released with Nancy Sinatra singing the main theme. Several artists have performed the song since then, vocalists and instrumentalists alike. Here, British orchestrator and bandleader Ray Mc Vay brings us a smooth rumba version of this great theme, so ballroom fans can put on their dancing shoes ;-) And, oh yes, as this song comes from a James Bond movie, we've tried to give our video that "typical Bond touch" ..... so as not to disappoint the 007 fans too much ..... ;-) (hope we succeeded......) From the 1969 album "Return of the Champions" here are Ray Mc Vay and his Orchestra with "You Only Live Twice". Enjoy.

My guitar instrumental version of all the 1960's James Bond movie themes strung together... I was inspired by Hank Marvin's "At The Movies" version of the Bond Medley, and in fact the BT's (except for "Thunderball") were from the "At The Movies" sessions and produced by Hank, although Hank himself is not on them. "Thunderball" was a lot harder to find, but I did get it, and was able to do all 6 1960's 007 themes... The Burns Shadows Apache Special is the main melody guitar, except on "You Only Live Twice", which features my Carvin DC-127 12-string. All the overdrive sections are played on my Carvin CT-624. This was quite a bit of work, and I hope you all enjoy ! gtrDan1963 claims no ownership of the music or media images which are all owned by their respective publishers. 1965 Shirley Bassey recorded this song for the James Bond movie, 'Thunderball.' But, this would have been the first time that the James Bond Theme Song was different than the movie title, and the movie producers decided against this. It was hard going, but John Barry set out to write a song called, 'Thunderball' and Shirley's good friend, Tom Jones, was invited to record the soundtrack. Dionne Warwick also recorded a wonderful version of Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
