Due to popular demand, I decided to arrange a complex piano version that captures as much detail from the original as possible. However, in doing so, I have made the piece quite challenging to play. I believe the original song was composed for either a piano quintet (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 piano) and vocals or a string chamber ensemble plus a piano and vocals. Thus, one of the challenges in reducing this score to for solo piano was to choose the which pitches to include in order to capture the fullness of strings, while at the same time keeping in mind the constraints of the pianist (eg maximum stretch, pedaling with minimal blurring). The melodic line often crosses under or is surrounded by harmonizing parts. One of the most difficult passages is at bar 9 (at 0:55 and at 2:23) where the middle triplet figures are shared by both hands. The video shows screen captures of the score synchronized with the music for you to follow along. The score will be available on my website once I get some free time. Description : I arranged the song, "Serenade" from the anime Fruits Basket, for ukulele, piano and voice. I am singing all the voice parts and playing the instruments. I also whistled a bit in the chorus xD I am singing the official English lyrics which are very pretty! I know it's not a holiday song per se, but it does have that warm fuzzy-ness that you usually hear in one! Ahhh Anyone who knows me very well knows how much I love this manga/anime series. It's one of the best stories I've ever experienced *cries* This beautiful song plays in one of my favorite episodes. Description : My arrangement of "Old Trails".....the Gunsmoke radio theme song, and later TV theme. It was also known as "Boothill." The theme was written by Rex Koury & Glenn Spencer. The original radio version was conducted by Rex Koury. My version is based on the radio program's ending theme song. The radio series first aired on April 26, 1952 ("Billy the Kid," written by Walter Newman) and ran until June 18, 1961 on CBS. It starred William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon; Howard McNear as Doc Charles Adams; Georgia Ellis as Kitty Russell; and Parley Baer as Dillon's assistant Chester Proudfoot.
